International Yoga Day -2026
Silas International School observed International Yoga Day with great zeal and mindfulness on 18th June, 2026, in the School Hall. The programme was conceptualized to highlight the significance of yoga in promoting physical fitness, mental equilibrium, and holistic growth among students.
The event began with a warm welcome address that established a calm and positive atmosphere. The Master of Ceremony anchored the proceedings with grace, guiding the audience through each segment with clarity and poise. Addressing the gathering, the Principal spoke on the enduring relevance of yoga in contemporary life. She emphasized that yoga is more than a set of physical exercises; it is a discipline that strengthens the body, sharpens focus, and nurtures inner peace.
The essence of International Yoga Day was further elucidated through a brief presentation on its origins as an ancient Indian tradition that has evolved into a global movement for health and harmony. The highlight of the celebration was a guided yoga session conducted by Ms. Shyamala K., the school’s Yoga Instructor. Under her expert supervision, students and teachers performed asanas such as Vrikshasana, Tadasana, and Bhujangasana, complemented by Pranayama and meditation. She demonstrated correct postures and breathing techniques, ensuring that participants understood the deeper purpose behind each practice.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from the student body, reflecting a genuine appreciation for the theme “Yoga for Self and Society.” The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks, bringing the celebration to a meaningful close.
Overall, the observance reaffirmed a timeless truth: a healthy mind resides in a healthy body. It left the school community inspired to integrate yoga into everyday life as a pathway to balance, discipline, and sustained wellness.
