World Environment Day
Silas International School marked World Environment Day with a series of engaging, eco-centric events that brought students and staff together for one shared goal — protecting our planet. The day began with a thought-provoking, theme-based assembly where students took the stage to speak about the significance of the day for humanity at large, and for their own generation in particular. Their words set the tone: the Earth’s future rests in the choices we make today.
Throughout the day, students across all grades immersed themselves in activities designed to connect learning with action. From a nature scavenger hunt that renewed their curiosity about the world around them, to a poster-making competition on ‘Climate Change’ that gave voice to their concerns, and an elocution on ‘Creating a Sustainable Environment’ that challenged them to think of real solutions — every event turned awareness into responsibility. The energy was contagious, and students participated with genuine enthusiasm, walking away with a deeper respect for the environment.
The celebration drew to a meaningful close with a mass pledge-taking ceremony. Students and staff stood together and vowed to eliminate single-use plastics from their daily lives, conserve natural resources, and act as responsible custodians of the Earth.
Because when we preserve, conserve, and heal our Earth, we don’t just secure the present — we create hope for a better future.
