Gandhi Jayanti Celebration-2026
Our future depends on what we do in the present. The whole nation celebrates Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd October to pay tribute to one of the greatest leaders the world has known. At Silas International School, this day is observed to rededicate ourselves to the high moral values and principles propagated by Bapu. This year, the programme began with a special assembly in the morning, where a high school student spoke about the significance of observing this day as a National Festival. This was followed by songs so dear to the Saint of Sabarmati. A full-fledged programme was held later in the day. After the dignitaries had paid floral tributes to the legendary freedom fighter, speeches reiterating the importance of inculcating the principles of the Mahatma, songs, a PowerPoint presentation, and a dance were presented as part of the event. In her address, the Principal expressed amazement at the fact that Gandhiji had led India to freedom without using any weapon or violence. She reminded the future citizens that Bapu's principles of Truth, Ahimsa, and Peace take on new meaning in the present world wrought with wars and disputes. The Principal advised the students that always treading the path of peaceful coexistence, speaking the truth, practising ahimsa, and keeping the country clean are some ways in which we can pay tribute to the Father of our Nation. "The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others!"
